In the Orange Foundation in Spain we have spent more than a decade betting on the use of technology and digital solutions to improve the quality of life of people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). As a result of this work/investigation, we have promoted and continue to drive different applications, free downloadable programs, web pages, etc. and in development of those tools, this projects have been carried out in collaboration with universities, experts, companies, associations of users, and of course, end users.
In this job together with autism we had the opportunity to sponsor the first technology and Autism (ITASD) congress, held in Valencia in 2012, and thanks to our French colleagues, the second edition was held in Paris in 2014. Now, the ITASD congress wants to pause to analyze how the autism ecosystem and technology are performing. We would not consider not supporting the organizers in this task. ITASD is a vehicle for analysis, of observation, of creating awareness, in making this common knowledge... a small and necessary pause in an environment full of change.
The celebration of this International Conference is also possible thanks to the support received from the Erasmus+ Program to the SMART-ASD (2015-1-ES01-KA201-015946), with the second Multiplier Event of this project coinciding with this ITASD Conference.
